What's all the Buzz About?

by TLD Fine Jewelry | Feb 16, 2022 | Necklaces

TLD Fine Jewelry loves to find ways to be a part of local communities near and far. With so many needs in today’s world, we wanted to pick something personal that we practice in our daily lives outside of making jewelry. As busy designers and jewelers, we unwind and connect with our families by spending time in our flower and vegetable gardens. So making a custom necklace seems like a great choice.

If you’re ever in a flower garden, near a flower pot, or eating at your local farmer’s market, you often, without notice, witness the ever-present pollinators. They consist of bees, butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds, to name a few. We learned that one of every three bites of food results from hardworking pollinators. Yes, one out of three. These fantastic workers need our help finding food, avoiding habitat destruction, and preventing the overuse of pesticides. So, we contacted an Atlanta organization, The Community Farmers Market http://cfmatl.org/, about a celebration they were hosting, The Lady Locavores Event. The evening was to honor International Women’s Day on March 8th to celebrate the community’s fantastic women chefs, farmers, and artisans. Our wish was to donate a piece of our customized jewelry to the silent auction. We came up with the honeycomb idea, as it touches many of the women that were being celebrated. So began, The Honeycomb Project.

Here is how you can help. Each purchase will have a portion of the proceeds go to a local pollinator garden in Atlanta, Georgia (to start), the location of your purchase will show up on our map as a bee…and finally, you will be a pollinator yourself by spreading the word about helping our pollinators in the world! Thank you for being a part of TLD Fine Jewelry as we apply these jewelry pieces worldwide! Could you help us keep this buzz going?
